2001 San Antonio/Spring Trip CompetitionThe Symphonic and The Honors Bands both received Superior ratings at the recent competition in San Antonio. Both of the bands also received the Best In Class award at the competition. Mr. Dick and Mr. Sanchez are very pleased with the bands' performances. Their dedication has been proven, and now stands four new trophies in the band hall.Back to Results ListUIL Concert and SightreadingThe Honors/2nd Band received straight ones UIL concert and sightreading for the first time in 21 years! This is a major accomplishment for both the directors and the students. The members have set the standard for future students to come. Congratulations!The Symphonic Band also recently received straight ones UIL concert and sightreading. And because the band received straight ones at UIL Marching in the fall, and in concert and sightreading, the band received the honor of SWEEPSTAKES. A honor that has not been the FHS bands' for many years. The members' hard work has paid off.Back to Results ListUIL MarchingThe Mighty Mustang Band received all superior ratings at UIL Marching. The band had not received straight one's at UIL Marching in about 10 years! However this year, the band pulled together and performed the exciting show Waterworld. The band's accomplishment has been recognized and will not be forgotten.Back to Results ListSam Houston Marching CompetitionThe Marching Band placed 8th out of 27 bands attending. The Band therefore qualified for the finals and placed 10th. The band's performance of Waterworld thrilled the audience. The band has never done this well at this competition.
